Interpreting
- Consecutive interpreting
In this kind of interpreting, the interpreter waits until the source-language speaker has finished speaking and then starts interpretation. It doesn’t have to be the interpretation of the entire message in the source-language but, depending on different length of the speech, only its the most important fragments. - Simultaneous interpreting
In simultaneous interpreting, the interpreter renders the message in the target-language, while the source-language speaker continuously speaks. A simultaneous interpreter usually sits in a sound-proof booth, while the listeners hear the target-language message via earphones. Such type of interpretation is used mainly during conferences.
